What you can establish early is which programs are worth pursuing — that depends on your electric utility, your gas utility, the equipment you choose and its specifications. For some programs, yes. Power Ahead Colorado requires preapproval before work starts, and programs with that requirement will not pay retroactively. Power Ahead also depends on your address being in a participating DRCOG community, which is confirmed manually rather than by this checker. Other programs accept applications after installation. Which rule applies to your project is established before installation is scheduled.

Sometimes. Utility rebates, regional programs and manufacturer offers come from different sources, so combining is often possible. But each program sets its own rules, some exclude others, and some cap the total at a share of project cost. No total is calculated in advance — combinations are reviewed as part of your estimate.

It depends on the program. Xcel Energy and Power Ahead Colorado are processed through SEALED, the third-party administrator for those programs. Black Hills Energy and certain other programs are handled in part directly by All In One.

The Colorado Heat Pump Discount works differently again: it is a state credit claimed by a registered contractor and passed on as a discount on your invoice, not something you file. All In One’s registration for that specific program is still being confirmed, so it is not included as a personalized checker match until All In One’s participation is confirmed. The expired federal credits are separate from all of this.

Many utility rebates depend first on who provides your electricity or natural gas. The equipment type, efficiency, existing fuel source and other specifications then determine which program and amount may apply. In Colorado a single home often holds electric and gas service with two different companies, which is why both are asked for separately — but the provider alone does not settle the question.

No. Every amount on this page is an estimate based on published program information as of the review date. Final eligibility and rebate amounts are governed by each program’s rules and administrator. All In One can verify the applicable requirements, but cannot guarantee program approval or payment.

Two things in particular move the number. Some programs, including Xcel Energy and Black Hills Energy rebates, have limited budgets and may change or close when funding is exhausted. And the higher Xcel figures are totals that include a bonus, which is available to customers who heat with natural gas service from Xcel Energy — customers with existing electric heating receive the standard rebate instead.

It reflects program information available as of the review date shown on this page, and is re-checked on a regular schedule. One change is now confirmed: Xcel Energy heat pump and heat pump water heater bonuses decrease on October 1, 2026. To receive the current higher amounts, equipment must be installed and invoiced before October 1 and the application submitted by October 15, 2026. If you are planning a project this year, timing is worth discussing.

No. Federal Sections 25C and 25D ended for new qualifying 2026 projects. Section 25C is not available for qualifying property placed in service after December 31, 2025, while Section 25D is not available for expenditures made after December 31, 2025. Qualifying 2025 projects may still be claimed on the appropriate 2025 tax return.

Colorado’s Heat Pump Tax Credit is separate. It works through participating registered contractors and produces a customer invoice discount; it is not filed by the homeowner.
